John & Judy Dovel -- Posted by Linda on Monday, July 12 2010
Just to let you all know..Mark, John's son drowned to death at a neighborhood pool party last Saturday night. He lived in Memphis. We got he news yesterday morning and had to make the "next of kin" id thru the police department foto and cornor office. We will not have a formal service. John has donated any viable skin/tissue/eyes but the major organs could not be harvested..he will be cremated. He leaves behind three cats all are spoken for and will have good homes ( his cats were a priority to him ) John and I will go to Memphis later this week or John's brother will accompany him to make arrangements for the house/truck/belongsing.

Mark was an excellent swimmer and competed from the age of six on the swim team and dive team. He had a bump on his head and had been drinking but the cornor said it was drowning. Another person at the party is a nurse, she tried cpr until the emt's arrived but he could not be saved.

This is one of those life changing events, to be sure!

JOE PELAEZ - OBIT-NYCRR/IADRR -- Posted by Linda on Thursday, May 13 2010
Burial information can be found on Loudoun Funeral Chapel's site at:

http://loudounfuneralchapel.com/

Click onto details beside Joe's name for
information.

What is listed states that Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 in Arlington National Cemetary.

Best wishes to all, Michelle

Hi all: Some of you may already know this. I had a call this evening from Marie Prioleau-Lewis who now works in HNLRR. She used to be in NYCRR/IADRR. She and Joe were neighbors in Ashburn. Marie came back to VA to see her Dr a week or so ago and tried to reach Joe and was not able to. When she got home she heard the news. She said his computer was on and he was in his apartment for possibly a week before they found him. Marie has been in touch with his sister and she thought his burial (he was cremated) was going to be July 6th or 7th at Arlington National Cemetery. She is going to give me more definite details after she speaks with Joe’s sister.

Just passing along what I have been told.

ELDEN CAVE - PASSED AWAY -- Posted by Linda on Saturday, January 23 2010
SAD NEWS ABOUT ELDEN CAVE - Howard Keeb forwarded the following information. If anyone receives further information, please pass it along and I'll post it. Also, if anyone has a photo of Elden, that would be great, too, since many times we know the name but can't remember the face (or vice versa). Howard writes:

It is inevitable at our age that this kind of news shouldn't come as a shock, but nevertheless it seems surreal.

Yesterday, the police found Elden Cave in his house apparently dead for several days. Neighbors became concerned because he was generally out and about and hadn't seen him since Wednesday.

He was taken to Green funeral home in Herndon.

Will let you know more info as we get it.

Howard
